With summer right around the corner, it's time to start planning for some fun in the sun! Here are our top tips for getting yourself and your power wheelchair ready for those summer adventures.

After traveling across 52 countries with my son, who uses a power wheelchair, I've learned a few helpful strategies. Let's get started with some tips, so that you can lay that lounge chair back and relax in peace once you arrive at your destination.

I'm an off-roader. An explorer. A camper. And yeah, a guy who lives life to the fullest – from the seat of my wheelchair. My love for the outdoors never wavered, even after my injury. The mountains still called. The dusty trails still tempted. The stars still shined just as brightly at the end of a dirt road. So, I rolled on.

Living life as a power wheelchair user, my beach visits haven't always been the easiest experiences. My everyday power chair is too heavy to drive directly in the sand without getting stuck, and until fairly recently, there hasn't been a lot of beach access that's either paved to a mat for me to drive on to get near the water.
